Getting to know Atlanta

It’s called Hotlanta for a reason. Not many of us could imagine playing tennis in the sunny weather of Atlanta. It’s hotter than hell in these August crispy days. I’m so sorry if you’re from Atlanta and are offended if anyone uses that term. But again, it’s called Hotlanta for a reason!! A lot of men say Atlanta has the “hottest” women in the south and Women in Atlanta pretty much live up to that reputation. Oh and not to forget, several surveys have showed that Atlanta has one of the most sexually adventurous population in the nation and its residents have the highest sex drive in the US. LOL that’s pretty dope!!

Nightlife(Tongue & Groove)
But one of the major reasons is Atlanta being a major destination for night life. There’s always something mysterious about nightlife in Atlanta. Atlanta’s nightlife is so friggin cool, lots of fun activities and lasts for hours. If you forget to visit the fun night clubs during your visit in Atlanta, you probably missed the most exciting part of this wonderful city. Lounges, restaurants and karaoke bars also play an important role in making the nightlife more happening.

When one thinks of Atlanta, hip-hop comes to mind immediately. Atlanta sometimes is also referred as hip-hop capital of the south but it’s also famous for neo-soul, southern rap and R&B. Most music fans know that Ludacris, Cee Lo Green, Lil Ton, B.o.B, Outkast, Ciara, Usher, Keri Hilson all hail from Atlanta. Even Justin Bieber calls Atlanta his US adoptive home.

Downtown Atlanta with Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium
Downtown Atlanta is amazing and the real estate is “legen-wait for it-dary”. It’s impossible to get your eyes off the beautiful property. Nuff said. Atlanta has a reputation of being the “city in the forest” due to an abundance of trees. Out of all the major American cities, Atlanta has the highest tree coverage percentage at 36%. Even the main street of the city is named after a tree. But the city’s lush canopy has been under threat due to urban construction, aged forests, heavy rains and droughts.

Wherever I go, I always try to explore local food as I’m a big food freak. When it comes to Atlanta, it’s mostly a fried chicken town. If you ask whether we could find a great barbeque in Atlanta, I’m going to say NO!! Atlanta is not a barbeque city. Not in the sense that you can’t find any but to find an authentic style of Georgian barbeque you ask? Well it’s certainly impossible. Atlanta rather borrows the style from neighbor states.

Inner view of Empire State South
But lately Atlanta has shown some signs towards its inclination to southern food. There are few restaurants in Atlanta such as “Cakes & Ale” and “Empire State South” that might give a vibe of how Atlanta is representing southern food. Empire State South opened by Hugh Acheson, a contestant in Top chef masters (season 3), is a great place to dine. The restaurant had its ups and downs, especially during its beginning phase. It took a while for Empire to find its feet but now there’s no other place better than Empire to get a handful of southern classics.

Turner Field(Home of the Braves)
Now talking about Sports, Atlanta is home to three major sports team: The Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball, the Atlanta Hawks of National Basketball Association and Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League. The Braves are the oldest continually operating sports team in America. The Braves had an unprecedented run of 14 straight divisional championships from 1991 to 2005 with a World Series triumph in 1995. Atlanta has hosted several international and professional sporting events. Most popularly, the summer Olympics of 1996 and Super Bowl XXVIII and XXXIV in 1994 and 2000 respectively.

Atlanta has been the seventh most visited City in the US, with a flow of over 35 million visitors per year. There’s no high season for tourism here. With several events and festivals taking place every once in a while; Atlanta is able to attract a good number of tourists. The most obvious reason for booming tourism industry is the city’s history museums and outdoor attractions. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site is a major tourist attraction which includes the preserved boyhood home as well as the final resting place of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Atlanta also features several outdoor attractions. Zoo Atlanta in Grant Park accommodates over 1300 animals representing 220 species and is among the only four zoos in the US to have giant pandas.

CocaCola Lights up Its Headquarters in Atlanta
with Digital Projecton
Atlanta is the Eighth-Largest Economy in the country with 75 percent of Fortune 1000 companies running business operation in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The city is the global headquarters of corporations like AT&T Mobility, UPS and Newell-Rubbermaid, The Coca-Cola Company and The Home Depot. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport also plays a key role in Atlanta’s economic growth. Delta Air Lines is the city’s largest employer that operates the world’s largest airline hub at Hartsfield-Jackson airport and has helped Hartsfield-Jackson to become the world’s busiest airport, in terms of passenger traffic as well as aircraft operations.

Atlanta airport transportation system is indeed a mess during peak hours, especially around the Hartsfield-Jackson airport. It’s a lot better for a visitor to book a limousine service in Atlanta to make sure he/she doesn’t have to deal with the traffic hassle. All limousine companies hire professional and well experienced chauffeurs who could be of great help to get rid of the heavy traffic.

Grand Hyatt Atlanta

Visiting Cleveland

Can you spell Cuyahoga correctly? Well, if you aren’t from Cleveland, you probably can’t. There was a huge tomayto/tomahto debate about how to pronounce Cuyahoga correctly back in 2009 when a news reporter pronounced it “Cuyahawga”. Only a Clevelander understands the importance of pronouncing it correctly. Maybe that is the reason why the reporter received tons of emails from the Cuyahoga crowd. It might sound stupid for you to hear about a debate like this, but for Clevelanders it’s the matter of pride. It’s the specialty of the people in Cleveland, “the wonderful people”.

Downtown Cleveland
This beautiful city, also referred as “The Forest City”, is located on the southern shore of Lake Erie in Northern Ohio. The architecture of Cleveland’s downtown is diverse. Most of the city’s government buildings share neoclassical architecture whereas “The terminal tower”, completed in 1928 and two newer skyscrapers, the 200 Public Square and Key tower (also the tallest building in Ohio) combine elements of postmodern architecture and Art Deco designs. Likewise, “The Arcade” built in 1890 is another addition to Cleveland’s architectural treasures. It was redeveloped in 2001 by the Hyatt Corporation as the first Hyatt Regency hotel of Cleveland. The absolutely stunning and sleek modern design can tempt any visitor to hold back for a second and stare at the landmarks.  Needless to say, the beauty of Cleveland is well capable to blow your mind.

Clevelanders celebrating St. Patrick's day
If you’re visiting Cleveland, make sure you visit University Circle, five miles east of downtown Baltimore. It’s an amazing 550 acre concentration of educational, medical and cultural institutions that includes Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Botanical Garden, hospitals and much more. A few other neighboring attractions include the Great Lakes Science Center, the Cleveland Browns Stadium, the Steamship Mather Museum and the USS COD, a World War II submarine.  Apart from the attractions, Cleveland is also home to several festivals that are celebrated throughout the year. Saint Patrick’s Day is probably the most famous holiday in Cleveland even though the people aren’t Irish. Hundreds of thousands of people show up to the streets of downtown as an annual parade to celebrate the festival. Fashion Week Cleveland, an annual fashion event that is considered to be the best in Midwest is also one of the few fashion industry happenings in North America, which is internationally recognized. In fact it’s second only to New York in the US. Some other events include the “Feast of the assumption”, “the harvest festival” and recently “Cleveland Asian Festival” is drawing attention from lots of tourists.

Cleveland County Courthouse
If you’re a sports freak, Cleveland has plenty to offer. Cleveland’s professional sports teams include the Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA), Lake Erie Monsters (hockey), Cleveland Browns (Football), Cleveland Crush (Lingerie Football League) and Cleveland Indians (Baseball). However, Cleveland has earned itself a reputation of being a cursed sports city due to its failure to win any major trophy in professional sport since 1964. Huge controversy that saw the Browns relocate themselves to Baltimore led to a major heartbreak among local fans. Clevelanders hate Baltimore ever since.

Accommodation won’t be a problem for any visitor in Cleveland.  There are plenty of hotels and motels that offer accommodation in an affordable cost. Cleveland Ohio hotel offer quality accommodation to their clients and also offer discounts to people visiting Cleveland for vacation. The prices will vary from hotel to hotel and according to the services you want so one can plan his budget accordingly. Almost all hotels have their own personal website so you’re just a reservation away from booking the hotel of your choice. A good planning would be recommended before you pack your bags. Knowledge of the place you’re visiting would be helpful. So first know the facts then pack your bags…

Limousine service in DC

Washington DC is not just the Capital of the US, is it? One might assume DC to be the administrative district of the United States but the truth is far beyond our imagination. This historical city, if I may quote, “the spiritual home of the nation”, preserves some of the most important documents of human era. Maybe that is the reason why people visiting the country’s capital are all pumped up to see the famous museums, galleries and absolutely stunning landmarks. Of course not everyone are going to be interested in witnessing some of the greatest achievements in American history and be a part of it, but for those who do, there’s no place better than DC in heaven or earth. The “jaw dropping beauty” of the city is well capable to make your eyes protrude and make sounds of astonishment, but be careful, you might scare the local residents.

A pre-planned tour could be very beneficial in terms of comfort, entertainment as well as for learning. There are certain things which need to be considered before you hit the road. Working on different action plans might be time consuming but will be worth the hard work. One of the major obstacles could be the transportation system while in DC; therefore it’s important to have a reliable transportation company on the speed dial. It can be utterly frustrating to wait for taxi at the airport after a stressful flight especially in a city where commuters spend 70 hours a year in traffic delays. All three major airports (BWI airport, Washington Dulles international airport and Reagan international airport) are pretty busy during the peak hours. DC limo service providers are always busy due to the enormous flow of tourists in the city. But out of several options available, it’s important to pick the right company that could deliver the services you’re looking for.

Limousine could be an ideal option while travelling through the city. Some of the reputed companies offer quality limousine service to their clients in a remarkably affordable cost. You might be in luck if the driver is an encyclopedia of the city. Trust me some drivers are better than a tour guide who can tell you about the destinations even guides don’t know about. If you’re on a business trip its mandatory to look professional. A good vehicle is the first thing anyone is going to notice when you reach the destination.  In situations like this, corporate car service DC might come in handy.  For others who are looking for a good memory, there are plenty of attractions in Washington to make your stay worthwhile.

Limousine these days are not just used for transportation. It now has become a symbol of wealth and pride. It’s up to you now on how you choose to spend your time and money. But make sure to check a few things before you book a limousine. The topmost priority should be given to personal safety so it’s necessary to check whether the vehicle is well maintained or not. It’s a must for a vehicle to be insured and licensed so check for that too. Having a good time is what travelling is all about.  So whatever you do, make the trip memorable.
